The Arizona Renewable Energy Mapping Project was a collaborative project between the Arizona State Land Department, the Bureau of Land Management, and ASU to create a renewable energy mapping system, with the goal of creating a public mapping site for potential solar energy site selection as well as a password-protected mapping site where agencies could share data in a secure manner by way of viewing, uploading, downloading and searching spatial data related to analysis for solar energy site suitability.
The system uses a Drupal website to allow secure access to data upload and download. Additionally, a FLEX interface provides basic site selection - Locate and review areas of Arizona State Trust Land suitable for potential development for solar generation sites - Locate and obtain information on specific Arizona State Trust Land sites that are currently under evaluation as solar generation sites. The Javascript mapping application is used by agencies to securely share geospatial data.
